Dave King - Reminiscence Part Deux [Old Prog/Trance]

A couple of years back I did a Reminiscence mix where the premise was just a collection of older records that I quite enjoyed. I've been meaning to do another one for a while since spending a fair bit on acquiring a load more of my favourite records from various second hand emporiums and here it is. Almost vinyl only (95%) it was mostly unplanned and as such in places the mixing isnt as perfect as it could be but its certainly listenable :)

this is really good, your trackselection and mixing holds the usual high quality. i really liked how you built it up with those killer progressive trancers peaking with the chain and bringing it down again to build again. you choice of ending with velvet is immense. only critisism is that you should have taken of eichelrück earlier or taken off more of the highs, it created a little dissonance in that transition
ye, well done again mate |

Cheers man, glad you enjoyed it. I was slightly worried I'd dropped it down too far with The Labyrinth but I guess not :) I know what you mean about the mix into Gouryella, it seemed to work nicely at the time but it doesnt really stand up to repeat listening.

So many old tracks I'd practically forgotten about :D
Yeah a couple of spots where the beer shows through more than others, but who really cares? I don't think I'd want to hear a mix of old tunes where the mixing was computer-perfect throughout, it wouldn't be authentic.
It's all about being taken back to the days before all the pretentious ****s appeared in the scene.
