I saw Greg Wilson a few weeks ago - he was dropping sound FX and stuff off a reel-to-reel throughout his set, great fun. |

| future is mp3, there are a few tracks that are only available on vinyl but labels are releasing remastered stuff from the past so if you think you need to play them day by day you'll have to carry less vinyls in your bag. And don't rip it to a cd, the quality loss is enormous, play it on vinyl or don't play. |

it's great to revisit this thread. everyone was helpful and I have to say that I'm satisfied with my tech 12's.
No offense to the talented djs who use cd's and mp3's, but I view cd's as fabulous car music and mp3's as gut-wrenching workout music. |

that question cannot be answered everyone has their fav format. I can't really tell the diff anymore most people I hang with use all the music formats. If you want good sound you need high quality music AND high quality equipment. what good is a 9,000bit mp3 to the 2nd power if your playing through a ty sound system in an average club?
most of my music is 320 mp3 and I play on vinyl thru serato. I never really fussed about formats. if songs only come in one format then i might fuss a lil. but its 2012 i don't fuss too much |
