So here are some results of my experimentations with Sylenth1 and Ableton Live's audio effects throughout the year.

I guess it all started, when I thought it sounded like Bola made all his sounds by himself. I don't know if that's true or not, but the thought of being able to create songs from scratch intrigued me.

It's obviously not at the level of Bola, but many of these sound nice I think. Your honest thoughts would be much appreciated!

Sylenth1 + Ableton audio effects = fun by Fjern

And for those who are not familiar with Bola, check out his album "Soup" - eargasm! http://www.discogs.com/Bola-Soup/master/13535

Some nice sounds there.

Making whole tracks using only one synth is probably the single best way to improve your synthesis skills.

The standout clip for me in number 6 > lovely running thru the night feel and great arps and chords - good basis for a track.

Others I like are 1, 2 (warm rubbery quality that is fantastic) and 5 which is truly thunderous bass.

The chip tune ones don't do it for me as so many people have done that now - just personal though.

Great work

MrJiveBoJingles: Thanks! And yeah, it seems to have been the correct choice. An obvious one, that is, since one of course must synthesize to become a better synthesizer :)

Richard Butler: Flattering to hear. Number 6 is definitely a personal favourite as well. It was actually made during one single train ride.

Fair enough about the chip tunes, there's not really much synthesis involved other than basic waveforms, so I guess they're slightly out of place. They were among the most fun to make though!
