Great deal on two great synths - $99 for both until October 29.

Apparently they're available for both PC & Mac as well now.
If you're not familiar with these, they're both pretty incredible synths that have been around for a few years. Rapture is a powerhouse synth that is great for any form of electronica, and its architecture is essentially like having up to 6 independent synths that can be layered together and cross-modulated. DimPro is more of a sfz-based rompler-esque synth that is decent for more realistic sounds - sorta like a poor man's Kontakt. Both come with a ton of sounds and there are 2 free expansions available for each that will give you thousands more presets/sample material. |

I value these heads up's as I'm not so good at keeping up with them myself. Cheers. |

its only a good deal if you can resell it second hand for more than u bought it for. thats my policy for everything i buy lately. if i cant resell it and earn on it, its not worth buying. exception would be computers and daws because its impossible resell imo. |

Cakewalk synths can't be resold once registered - no license transfers allowed. :( |

I definitely jumped right on this when I had the opportunity! :D Wanted these synths for a long time. If anyone's interested, I'll drop back after I've had a chance to really try them out and give my pro/con views. Too bad about the license transfers, though... |

I've been loving Massive for a long time, and I thought Rapture would be a step up... So I bought it, but I'm not digging it too much.
It's frustrating to work with, especially when you're used to how easy it to set up and tweak parameters with Massive. I can appreciate how each element can act as it's own independent synth, but a lot of times I don't need it to work that way.
I wish I can activate a couple of elements, then select some waveforms, and tune them. After that I can jump over to the Global page and set the DSP routing just once, select the filter(s) just once, set one amp env, set one filter env, set the LFOs and have ALL the elements react in a uniform fashion.
The best I was able to do was save a default element... still a far cry from how easy it is to work with Massive.
Even Absynth is easier to deal with. |
