Hey everyone, I just signed up so, hi. I used to be on the anjunabeats forum but I cant sign in anymore + this forum looks better anyways. Anyways, I was wondering if someone could help me with this. So, if youre familiar with live 8 you know that you have to select the parameters wich you want to automate by pressing configure and blabla... My problem is, when I press on the thing I want to automate,(in my case the cutoff knob), nothing happens. It doesnt register so I cant automate anything. Kinda ty when you cant automate youre go-to synth lol.
Looking forward to taking part in discussions over here, btw. |

ok here's what to do...
once you hit configure click on filter cut off and it will appear just down below configure..
next you right click on filter cut off and select show automation, there when you look at your channel it will show you your automation for your filter all you do now is set it to what you want. |

Thanks for the help man but I allready know how to automate, I'm not a newbie :P my problem is that, when I click on filter cutoff it doesnt appear below configure. It used to work then one day ableton just decided it didnt want to detect sylenth anymore or something. |

This actually happened to me as well; everything was working fine and then it would stop appearing. For me, my Sylenth1 disappeared from inside the selectable dropdown for automation selection (check inside a clip view, for instance, inside the envelope tab). The fix for me was a re-installation; after that, and a re-scan of the plug-in folder, everything was back to normal.
Hope that helps. |

| Sylenth is fine for me in live, althought Omnishere has the same problems, I cant automate anything on it. Tried reinstalling but that aint fixed it, my only solution is to place another filter (volcano for example if its a filter effect you wana automate) after the vst or record the sound and twist the knobs in the program while its playing |

Thanks man I'll try volcano since I tried reinstalling it and it didnt work for me neither. Do you know if you can assign a filter enveloppe in volcano? I'm not familiar with it I've never used it. |

Yes you can generate one.. It has loads of modulation options, XLFOs, envelope generators/followers, delays, panning, phasers etc.. There's loads of presets aswell for synths, beats, hats, distortion, fx and more to add something extra to your sounds.. Its simple and easy to use.. Even if you just use it to filter sweep up or down and notch it, it sounds really nice.. Its really cool imo, love it..
Is your version of live up to date?? 8.2 is the latest I think.. That might solve your issues |

I know in Trilian before anything shows up in the "configure" window first you have to "enable host automation" in Trilian on the knob you want to show up for configuration......then you will be able to automate it in Live |
