Q3

bioshock (yeah yeah, system shock was a classic i missed)

Had your list included the likes of Planescape Torment, Baldurs Gate, Freespace 2, you may have had a slight point but none of those bar DX deserve to be even near the top 20, let alone top 5. Quake is a notable mention but as an overall game it pales in comparison to countless others.
Bioshock as you said is basically just System Shock.
Tie Fighter? Seriously? :stongue:

if the list went to 10, baldurs gate would make it. you're kidding yourself if you think FS2 was better than tie fighter; tie fighter being much more epic (far more units in battles) and more depth with mission design and ship management. FS2 was still wtf awesome, but other than prettier graphics, it was no tie fighter.

Q3 is arguably the greatest twitch shooter of all time. the only "arguable" part about it is if you happen to prefer UT, which i certainly wouldn't begrudge you. but Q3 sure as isn't "paled into comparison" by "countless" other titles, noob!!

makes every single best 100 games of all time list ever written. ever. IGN's recent PC one had it at #3. like dude, did you even play it? :conf:

Synopsis: Fans of space combat games will always have a soft spot to games like Wing Commander or Elite, but no game before or since has captured the drama and action of the genre as well as TIE Fighter. Benefiting from the lessons learned from the X-Wing game that launched the franchise, TIE Fighter boasted some of the best flight mechanics and mission design ever seen in a space combat game. Long before Knights of the Old Republic gave us a chance to see what it's like to serve the Empire, TIE Fighter presented the opportunity for the player to become the villain. The Collector's Edition went one better by adding improved polygonal graphics and brilliant sound design. There have been a few imitators since this classic game was released, but none have come close to delivering the excitement and joy that we still find running secret missions for the Emperor.

in your face stimpy! :gsmile:

Yea I have. I'm not saying it's bad. In fact I think it's quite good, I just don't think it's good enough to be a contender for best game ever.
Original stories are very important to me for a top game which is why something like Quake doesn't interest me at all for single player.
