that recent thread about making this type of music sparked a question that ive been meaning to ask.
ive been playing around with making my own house stabs/plucks
i keep ending up with deadmua5/ inpetto sounding plucks.
for once haha this is not what i want.
im at work ATM but usually a few saws filter en - no attack mid decay a little lower sustain and lower realse
similar on the amp en. thats not the settings exactly but similar and that would give me the inpetto deadmau5ish pluck.
i cant seem to get the EDX one tho.
im trying to make one similar to EDX's pluck. alot of his songs use the same lead.
eg from about 1:20 ish it starts to come up
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pinNgIR-6Ao
it sounding dryer than others so im using less reverb. . .
but im still struggling to get close
ive been trying with a virus ti and also sylenth1 with no luck
any help ? |

| Was thinking the same on chords, would also add, bring the LP filter down (EQ etc). Saw and/or square wave sound good when I used subtractor in reason. Damn I miss that synth. |

make your filter release longer, you could make it easily work with sylenth.
detune 2 saws, 1 low octave 1 normal octave
turn off re trigger, and turn down the filter envelope down(the black knob) to get a warm sound. |

| Thanks for the link to the tune - that's exactly what I like now - very few elements, hardly any layering yet sounds great, damn! |

this is "just" many of the pluck sounds readily available in your Virus TI banks, or Sylenth or NEXUS
just with a bit of tweaked amp release and playing with the cutoff with a bit of res in order to get that metallic top feel.
i.e. the "Armin Pluck" patch on the V-station is already quite close. play it with low velocity and filter about 45% |

is that from the Adam van Baker bank? if that's the case, it sounds a bit weak when the filter opens up. Any way to resolve that without layering? |
