REVIEW: Cherry Beach Closing Party 2010
View this Thread in Original format
LightsOut
Platform brought the goods once again, one of the best parties of the year for sure :)

It was a bit slow at the beginning but picked up quickly and the weather was amazing, not to hot and not to cold :toocool:

James Teej threw down an incredible sunset set, so groovy and bouncy and everyone was digging it, he can def bring the goods and had everyone moving...

JAMIE KIDD DESTRUCTION AGAIN!!! He had Cherry Beach eating outta his hands, bomb after bomb!

Noah Pred really impressed me as well, seen him a couple times before and couldn't really get into it, but tonight he followed up right where Jamie left off and the place was going off...

Can't say enough good things about the Platform for throwing these parties, much respect and I can't wait till next year :)

PS: sound was incredible tonight, those JBL bins make all the difference in the world!

that was one of my favourite cb's for sure, everyone played amazing set's, such a sick vibe at these parties!!

Jamie kidd/noah pred/james teej/nitin were all fantastic, such a treat to play along side these guys and weather "partially" cooperated as well. :D:D

Koki/Grew Gow/Terence all played sick sets as well, terence famous for exploring those deep dark vibes late night, trippiest set of the night for sure!

ps. dude climbing the tree during my set and breaking the branch and falling was the highlight of the day lmao

HAHA the guy in the orange jumpsuit! He was outta his mind and loving it!

Matty I completely agree :)
MusicMatters
that was a cool one... I just stayed away from the crowd and enjoyed the music with a friend and beer only... Sunset set was the greatest...

Holy , people should take easy with drugs... fire, tree climbing and drugs don't go well together... it was kinda sad to see a woman lost her mind.... yeah, that dude was on some serious G ...

Anyways, long life cherry beach parties... Toronto needs more cherry beach culture...

Sad I missed this one....ended up getting stuck in family plans longer than expected.
Platform is stacked over the next couple of months, so I'm not worried about getting my fix. :P

Great CB session for sure. Quality music all day. Gera, James Teej, Nitin and Jamie all played great sets. As a matter of fact, it was probably the best day of music of the whole summer IMO.

A couple of my favourite tracks of the day:

(Jamie Kidd)

Lee Foss - Happen for a Reason

(Nitin)

Also, LightsOut: who are you dude? I must have met you before. We go go to all the same parties.
The Potter
The guy in the orange jumpsuit was clearly trying to live up to the just-escaped-from-the-asylum image that he was tying to portray. It's those sort of antics that can get the partes shut down, especially when locals, who were unaffiliated with the party, were looking on. Apparently, he is developing quite the reputation, as he has been seen behaving in a similarly deranged manner at other events.

All-in-all, a quality day was had in the compnay of friends. The fact that it was not too crowded gave it an even more intimate feel. There were some beastly tunes played, all of which should have had a bigger reaction from the crowd.

Been lovin that EP for a while now... wish I coulda made it out but we had a ton of family stuff on Monday.

Good to hear you all had a good time !

I only saw Greg and Terrence. Greg Gow was rocking it as usual.. Always good to hear some proggy techno in Toronto. Terrence was dropping some awesome dark hypnotic beats.. and his mixing was decent. I went nuts when I heard this track live for the first time:
