| There aren’t many albums in the modern era as cohesive as this one. Yes, Kno has a signature sound, a seemingly bottomless trickbag of guitar flourishes, orchestral lilts and vocal lifts, not to mention samples that leave loop-diggers longing for a hidden treasure map (do your own homework mofos, the Blues Clues are there). But there is never even the slightest hint at ennui in the feelings and thoughts these songs conjure up. It is some of the most soulful music (not just hip-hop) an android can hope for these days... |
