Drum sample CDs

What do people use and recommend for drum samples? (I'd use the search, if only it worked, so sorry if this has been asked before).

Thomas Penton has some decent stuff some people don't like it I do. Deadmau5 has a sample CD out, some other notable producers do as well. I got a free batch of 909 toms and stuff from here on TA and they get used on all my tracks. They were posted in some random thread I forget which one. I'll try and upload again tonight after work :)

Vengeance probably has the most popular sample CDs, but they're expensive and the quality of the samples is variable - most of them are ripped from other sources, so they have a lot of artifacts (e.g., hi-hats on top of kick samples, etc.)

Personally, I use Wave Alchemy samples more than anything else because they're modestly priced, high quality and all original samples that are created using high end gear by guys who know what they're doing.

But I also use and recommend some of the samples that Kevin posted above. The Thomas Penton stuff is pretty good for trance, but the samples are all terribly over-limited.

All you need is Mutekki Ultimate Beats 2 (http://www.mutekki-media.de/Drum-Sa...Vol-2::313.html). This is a top notch sample library.
The only thing I don't like is that all hihats are more electro oriented. Everything else is pretty much amazing. So just get something like Vengeance essential house or vengeance essential clubsounds along with it and you're pretty much set.

Years ago I tried his Essential Drums & Percussion and almost every kick sample was heavily clipped.

I'm just not sure who and where from, but thanks, I'll check it out. Cheers for the other links too.

Thanks to everyone else too. I may just be returning to music production after a seven year hiatus and I'm a bit out of the loop, not to mention my compositional skills need a lot of brushing up.

I don't use his kicks but all his percussion and stuff are good.

Here's some drum sounds I harvested from a few of my tunes. Some of it's kind of schwaggy but I've used a lot of them. They're basically compressed and uncompressed samples which are comprised of the layers occurring as a result of using multiple sounds played at the same time, so there's a good deal of variation.

Sorry, but some here are still in third world countries (New Zealand) and can't download 700 Mb *just like that*. A torrent would be the only way for me to get it during off-peak hours but I appreciate your help anyhow. I'm attempting it with DownThemAll so I hope the file will be there for some time.

Oh yeah. It will be there for weeks, probably. I'm also going to start work on a new batch, maybe even tonight, that will probably be a little smaller. If you don't get it in a couple of days, what I can do is chop it up into more bite sized pieces, so let me know.
