Can someone explain what the rally was about/for? What was the message that was supposed to be conveyed?

They want sanity to be restored. Cuz is crazy, yo!

And by the expletive I mean "Glenn Beck" and the "Tea Party" nonsense. Watch the video, it's just 90 seconds long and pretty spot on. In a hilarious way.

LMAO! They sure like to take the piss out of Americans. "Whether Stewart's audience can stay energized through voting day remains to be seen. November 2, after all, marks the return of McRib" *cue fat Americans lined up at McDonalds*.

I still don't quite get wtf it was about.

The part I find confusing is the word "restore." If America was ever sane, it was before I was born, and I see no evidence of it in the historical record...

It's interesting to compare the perspective of people who haven't spent a significant amount of time here with that of those who have.

Well, the crazy guy who thinks is napoleon doent think hes crazy right, he actually thinks hes napoleon. Other people have to explain to him, that he is in fact bat insane and take appropriate measures.
WittyHandle
I wasn't speaking about Americans' perspective on themselves. I was speaking about the many people I know who moved here from other countries with strong preconceived impressions and how they later found them to be very inaccurate. I apologize that I do not have a quaint metaphor to convey this at the moment.

Moongoose
Lack of metaphors is inexcusable :whip:

I know, I think I'm in a metaphor slump :(
