I've messed around on a few DAWs, but I'm by no means a producer... but with a good sample pack, and obviously some musical knowledge and a good ear (the most important attributes of a good producer) the techniques aren't overly complicated in making minimal techno. You don't really layer your kicks/hi hats too much or use many filters, there's not much synths in minimal.. I'm not saying that making a great minimal techno song is easy, any idiot can learn to use a program... Some of the programming you hear on electro house tracks are extremely complicated to replicate, and unless you're extremely knowledgeable you'd have no idea what kind of filters and envelopes to use.
AC/DC's music is extremely simple and straightforward, Dream Theater's is very technical, both bands make great music.
And Mr. Mystery, I agree with what you said.. but I think english is not the OP's first language, and I knew that he was asking about technical knowledge in making a track, "harder" or "easier" of course doesn't apply. |
