Yeah I know that you dumb idiot. It's hardly any new facts. But that's why I despise this poll. Because a producer and not a DJ can easily go and score high points just because a few tracks. So it's more the one who spam most mails who score high. This would be all good if the DJ mag poll was just a poll for fun like the TA poll. But the sad part is that many club promoters refers to it when booking DJs.

Crying about it every single chance you get isn't going to make it better.

the list looks like it does because the guys that are at the top of the list - really want to be there. They PLay to huge numbers at big events then they have spam systems - email outs etc etc. to grab votes. they have management teams that facilitate this.

it has very little to do with production/djing (obviously people have to enjoy it to a degree)- it does have a lot to do with marketing strategy.

it seems like some guys who have been quite high in the past have actually given up on getting heavy votes in this poll these days.

They don't use spam systems, it's just email marketing and promotion. Any management team worth their salt wouldn't allow sending blind spam - surefire way to get on a server blacklist. Now hacking the voting system or setting up a bot, that might be another story..

The solicits for votes on his website (even though he himself has claimed to NOT be a DJ, repeatedly, but I'm sure he's noticed this hasn't stopped many others from placing, so he simply runs with the tide) and his zombie-like mass of fans obeys in lockstep obedience.

In some circles, so are Atomic Kitten. Some of us however, can make an informed distinction between what is cool and what often sounds like nursery rhymes. Although I'll give credit to those 4am mixes - some of them are decent.
