This looks excellent Jack.

The Conet Project is really interesting. Surprised to see a mix including one of the tracks tbh.

Really good man. The mixing is super smooth. I listened to this twice today already.

I took two excerpts from the Conet Project (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Conet_Project), overlaid them, put them through a lot of effects and then looped them as background noise throughout the mix.

I wanted to create a framing device where the listener is the last person on earth, tuning into a battered transistor to listen for any other survivors. I wanted that crackling white-noise backdrop running throughout the mix, similar to what Burial does with his tracks. I chose samples of number stations not only because they sound creepy, but because they're automated transmissions of military intelligence. The idea is that the bombs have fallen at the end of the world and the last human voices echoing across the landscape are these military signals, playing forever.

loved it. the way you built it up and then brought it down with 'walking alone' was really good. really love that track. the rest was equally awesome. ya!

What kind of stuff was the original production you did?

Nothing musical. There are a lot of sound effects/atmospherics at certain places that I had to make from scratch because I couldn't find any good samples.

Until this mix I didn't realize how sick Kryptic Minds actually are. Always kind of overlooked them.

What did you use to make said effects?

Very good mixing and flow.

FL, freeware MP3 editing software, recordings. I don't want to draw too much attention to it because it wasn't exactly difficult stuff: I just wanted to make it clear that there are a lot of sounds in the mix that aren't there on the original records. It doesn't mean I can produce and it doesn't mean I'll be making any music.

Unfortunately, Websense blocks this mix, so any other people who may have Websense on their company's networks won't be able to download it :( (mixes from your other host download fine)
