Probably doesn't belong but this commercial is funny.

Looks like Roger Sterling driving too.

If I remember correctly... he's now the spokesperson in their commercials.

Plus if you remember one of the Mad Men episodes, he hated the idea of doing business with Honda :p

One thing. TV shows like CSI. CSI: NY and CSI: Miami usually have different tunes in their episodes, once in a while :D

ah yes...Mitsubishi was on a roll with making electronic tracks popular

This is more true than you probably intended it to be.

Probably the most ironic use of an electronic track in a commercial was when a car company (I forget which one) used Moby's "Go" in '93, given that he was a strong opponent of the auto industry.

What happened to Mitsu's creative over those years... I wish I knew!

I'd LOVE to know the costs to use some of these tracks, especially the costs if it's something with a vocal... they're probably through the roof. :eyes:

I thought I heard something about him not being able to sue to have it removed because there weren't any copyright laws on electronic music yet, but that seems silly as it was released on a significant label.

No my statement was as true as you think it too.....who the hell knew of all those artists in those previously posted ads over here in toronto, at least, until those ads came out?

I knew wiseguys cos that track dates as far back as 98 and it was big back home....other than that....

even in the apple ads (Media Arts Lab) all those artists are pretty indie and thats how they save costs on using those catchy tunes before these artists are big (thanks to the ads)

who heard of ting tings until those ipod ads? no one...they were as underground as you got....until a band/artist as a name, they cost a one time fee (still do when it's ads) which is chump change
