Not really, but you seem to eat everything critically, me being probably the biggest Oakenfold fan on this board.. him doing anything is good news to me.. though that doesnt mean its all good.
But you and the other usual suspects always go in looking for something to criticize and point fingers at.. anything NEW happening in the scene that is..

No you idiot. If you ever have read my comments here in CD/Review I don't always criticize everything just because it's new.
Releasing an old mix again is not new. Cass & Slide did it back in 2001 on their own Fire label. The difference is that they didn't have to put in their own label tracks just to whore it out.
Especially not ty tracks as the ones Oakie put into his mix.
I mean. Infected Mushroom. What was he thinking?

Famous? Such as who? What is the definition of that within EDM?

I really wonder how Oakenfold did this transaction considering all the bad press he gets for trainwreaks

Probably by letting the track play out completely and have a three second overlap.

The guy can't mix, not even in Protools.
Paradox Lost
I'm still unclear as to why this PR blurb is advancing this as both an official and re-recorded release of the original Goa mix, and also as a reinterpretation of it using a modified track selection.

If we all vote and bump him up a few places in the polls next year, he might let us buy his 1999 Gatecrasher set through LimeWire's Perfecto add-on!
Light The Fuse
itd be good if he did a goa mix with new tunes

After all the demand and all the bootlegs with bad quality, Paul decided to completely mix it again with new technology, some re-arrangements and some new tracks added. The quality is 10X better than the original bootlegs.

Who gives a ? It's not the same mix. It's him responding to the demand with more money-whoring. I would have been happy for him to release the original mix. I definitely would have bought it. I might have even bought a re-mixed version of the original mix. But for him to go all George Lucas on this ? that. It's not the same mix anymore. It's him throwing in more stupid useless . People liked the old mix, why the is he trying to add in more Perfecto tunes?

basilisk
+1 to that! The George Lucas comparison is particularly apt.

Not to defend it, but I'd imagine that some of the he got away with on Radio One, in terms of what he played, was a lot easier compared to making a record and releasing it (clearing copyright on all the stuff).

He is whoring, but also cause its easier to license off your own label... :p
