How does a Unknown DJ get an audition at a club in NYC???

I need some help for a friend...he is an AMAZING DJ but is not sure how to go about getting a spot at a club....
does anyone know what steps it takes for him to go about getting an audition at a club in the city?...liek who he should contact..,.,.
if any of you have any connections lemme know...he will make a demo CD and send it to you and u can send it that person...
i know nothing about this...but i know hes really good and jus wants a chance to be heard....any help for him to get started would be really cool...thanks |

| he could try for those open deck parties wehre they search for new talents or just start emailing good djs and ask them for some help...if they are nice they will retur you email and tell you what to do |

| you could start with open decks @ psuedo on thursday. if you call the guy who runs it a couple days in advance you can get a spot. the info is posted on clubplanet every week. |

| if you dont know anyone that is already a dj at a club then you should take kid nyce's advice and send as many demo's of yourself possible.... you're gonna get a lot of cold shoulders but keep trying and trying untill someone hires you. |

| keep an eye out for dj contests at roxy. What you would have to do is make a demo cd with a set of yours. and they get evaluated by people then 4 are choosen. Roxy will be doin more of these events in the future. |

| I always hear people saying just pick a club you like and become and regular there and get to know the head people at the club. Once you make friends you can start asking them for things like "hey, let me show you what I got by letting me spin":) |
