Wind warning for
City of Toronto continued
Strong gusty winds this afternoon across much of Southern Ontario.
This is a warning that damaging winds are imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.
The unseasonably intense and unusually large fall storm with a centre over Northwestern Ontario continues to dominate the weather pattern for the province as it drifts eastward today.
Strong and gusty winds are forecast to develop by early afternoon across areas to the Lee of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay as well as to the greater Toronto area and across much of Southwestern Ontario.
Southwest winds of 60 km/h with a few gusts to 90 are expected across much of the area this afternoon. Local higher gusts to 100 km/h are possible along the Bruce Peninsula and over the Dundalk Highlands.
These winds will ease off during the evening hours. The strong and gusty winds will result in difficult driving conditions especially in exposed areas. Motorists should exercise caution as a result. |
