they actually have had thursday night partys, but I don't think it's happened in the new Stereo. I know there was a Jock Ball on a thursday at Stereo like 4 years ago

erg, wish I could come to Lawler, but I'm not coming to mtl until Saturday. Rob Mirage & Michealangelo it is then!!!

Q & A WITH STEVE LAWLER

What is it about Montreal that makes you want to come back
to play for us so often?

I love your city and we share the same passion for HOUSE music,
Montreal, in fact Canada has ALWAYS been on top and upfront when it
comes to house music and its underground scene, which i respect and
enjoy ;)

After a long hiatus since 2005, you recently played at Stereo this
summer. How did you feel being back in that room? Are you excited
to be back at Stereo in October?

Stereo is seriously by far one of the best clubs in the world
especially now after the recent renovation. It is a pure pleasure
playing that room.. It’s the Wimbledon for tennis players, the
Wembley for footballers ...

You’ve come a long way since the infamous M42 motor way raves
you used to organize in UK. Could you tell us a bit about the
scene back then and how it has evolved since then?

I could never explain it all in a few words, but the scene has
changed massively, because the way music is distributed is completely
different, we now live in a digital world and this has single
handedly changed the face of the industry, in some ways positive and
in some ways negative, its just different

Your Viva imprint has been a huge success in the past few years
and you’ve really taken it to new heights recently. What is the
driving force and inspiration behind the decisions you make for
Viva, unlike many labels out there today?

We just put out music we love, and build and support the viva family,
we all get on very well and genuinely want to help each other and
drive things forward. We have a lot of fun and everyone in the family
seems very happy..

The Viva Bus Tour is introducing two of your Viva artists, David
Pher and Leon. Over the past few years, we have seen you do this
with quite a few of your artists such as Audiofly, Sean Miller,
Jimmy Hill, Darius Syrossian and Nyra. Do you feel that this is an
important roll, and what can we expect from both of them?

For me It’s very important to get behind our artists and help develop
their careers.. The way I see it, is, I believe in this talent and I
want to share that with people, introduce people to these guys as
they are great DJ's and Producers..

What can we see from Viva in the upcoming months? Any new
artists that you feel are really doing it for you right now?

Nima Gorji, he is really exciting me, he isn’t new but he is on fire
right now, as is Davide Squillace. we have some amazing music coming
out over the next coming months which I’m really excited about..

Can you say a few words to your fans in Montreal?

I cant wait to show Leon and David how amazing stereo is, and
introduce you all to their music, and above all yet again get behind
the hallowed decks of stereo and do MY thing :)
see you on the dance floor
