i just read an article about how an undercover cop, this happened in BK btw, sees a kid of 16 y/o (black, of course) and tries to stop him for riding on the sidewalk & summons him. the kid begins to pedal away from the cops as fast as possible leading them into a deadend alleyway. with no where to run anymore, he turns around and begins shooting at the cops. the story ends with the kid dying.
just a sad story which couldve been prevented if the kid wasnt disobeying these stupid laws bout riding on the sidewalk. then again, he really shouldnt have been carrying a loaded .9mm

How do you think we feel when..
We're riding in the right lane nice and slow, and joe blow from jersey skeets an illegal U turn to grab a parking spot. Said joe blow parks his vehicle is all excited, swings open his door without looking in the mirror and Mr careful cyclist riding in the right lane gets caught up on his door.
Do we equally have videos showing this, and if we did, would you feel like damn Mr Joe Blow shoulda looked in his mirror first before swinging his door open.
What if a delivery guy is biking his order over and the same thing happens? Don't you think we'd feel similar, maybe pick yourself up and drop kick a nigga back into his suburban whip?

i feel you on that. cyclist on the roads are growing by the numbers and very rapidly in nyc, nowadays. its something we all still need time to adjust to- some more then others and others much more. altho, i must admit it is a bit annoying that i have less room now to get around where i need to get with all these bike lanes everywhere but whatevers.
but just bc u get a few laws now- and given, that u have a lot more accesibility than any pedestrian/vehicle- dont try and claim to be king of the roads.
