happens sometimes! You guys still should be blessed to be living in such a great city and to be able to have these parties/afterhours.

The rave scene is still true in Montreal vs Toronto :(

Stereo was not full even the Pepsi event was cancelled; that's why the event was cancelled: not enough interest!
princesultan
if the fire marshal was the reason why the event was canceled, then there was probably a good reason for it. i could be wrong, but maybe a bit better preparation was needed.

and not to be a party pooper, but we're kinda lucky to live in a country where proper safety regulations exist.

but overall this is a massive blow to playground and i'm not sure their rep can take much more after 2010. they need to come out extremely big on the next one or their days could be numbered.

call me out-of-the-loop (or more likely 3/4 retired) but what was the other 'major' event that was cancelled? "Sensation"?
oldskool94
yup Sensation had been downgraded to Redlight, and that was ultimately cancelled outright.

They also attempted a Black & Blue knockoff, which I think was called "Black Ball" with Awful Nissim, Nanna Paula, but the production company bailed last-minute.

Overzealous fire dept or organizers did not have their ducks in a row?

Too bad - Cox would have burnt the place. Maybe that is the real reason the fire dept engaged in the preemptive strike. :D

probably both ;)

I wonder if it's a coincidence that both parties that got shut down were at the same venue. Not insinuating anything, just curious.
