So... Where to start.
Basically, i tried to find... what's really the most forward thinking in modern music. I went all over the place with it from where i started back in march; trying to find a direction for this mix to go in, until eventually i found that it was best not to worry about it too much and to just use my imagination.
The end result is a fast paced set of mixing ideas. Going from ear shattering frequency abuse to calming melodic serenity on a regular basis. Hopefully varied enough to keep it interesting but smooth enough to make it possible to get lost in. What the music itself has in common is that it pushes the boundaries of what their respective genres offer or even to verge outside of it's boxes.
If you really want a list of what genres are present, it would look something like this:
Ambient, Dark Ambient, Psychedelic Ambient, Hardcore, Folk, Techno, Noise, Drone, Downtempo and of course IDM.
So yeah, that doesn't help much. Basically you just need to be an open minded and adventurous listener.
The main mix is about 72 minutes long, after which it drones on for a while. Basically because i like to have something to.. turn it off to i guess. Although i think it is rewarding enough to keep on listening until the very end
Basically, it's mostly a personal 'artistic statement' mix.
For me it succeeded. But I'm curious to see what others think about it, there's bound to be someone like me who might appreciate it. -

ill write a review real soon. this stuff is right up with my listening habits. The variety looks pretty crazy tho, Dominik Eulberg & Legowelt right next to stuff like Library Tapes & Nicholas Szczepanik should be pretty interesting.;)
one thing i ask is if you could please upload it elsewhere, like sendspace, cuz zshare cuts its speed down fiercely whenever i use it. |

Oh and you probably won't even recognize the Eulberg and Legowelt tracks. I just wanted to credit every one that i used. |

| Well this is quite heavy listening. It's probably gonna take me a few listens to get my head around some of it. I'd like to hear this under the influence of something illicit. That said that Argaman track is amazing. |

Be careful though, It can get pretty paranoid if you're not familiar with the music. |

i was listening to some stuff on Brume Records & Soleilmoon before this, so i was able to get into the mood nicely.
fantastically well mixed and smooooth. i tried to make something like this set before with "history vol.606" -- but you have made ace work.
seems like the really wild stuff was part of the first 40 or so minutes and then the mix relaxed. |

Ah, I'm glad you liked it. :)
I've heard a few of your mixes but didn't know about that one. Suppose i should give it a listen as well. Thanks.
And yes, it does relax after a while. I think it fits the more downtempo tracks better. |
