Mad for Brad
I bought an imac 27 " a few days ago and when it runs, the screen flickers. Is this something that has to do with graphic settings or have I been delt a dud. Im not happy and I am thinking of just returning it. I hate this kind of . I by mac so I don't have to worry about things not working. Has anyone delt with their on sight tech team ? Are they just going to do all this i've already tried ? Should I just ask for another unit ?
Notle

welcome to apple anno 2010. It ain't much better than anything else after all. Limited lifetime and defective units just like any other.

My wife's iPhone died this week. 500 Euros in the trashbin. 3 years old.

Maybe you should have done as masters in micro-electronics instead of music....

Take it back, you'll be under warranty - assuming it was bought new. If not, enjoy that empty feeling....

i actually started my university studies with engineering when I was 18 because my parents would not allow music. It was only till I moved from home and they had no choice. I just couldn;t be bothered to bring the thing to mac store to have there stupid techs waste my time. I ing hate mac employees. Especially when you buy something and they enquire what you will be using for. kiddy porn. end convo.

Seriously? My parents were glad to see my arse when I left for uni, some peace for them, so I could study what I wanted - which is how it should be.
Anyway good luck getting it sorted. I have had minimum exposure to those Apple types, only got an iphone and I've had it cracked/unlocked now so they wont touch it anyway.

my parents are oldschool. sister is a doctor, brother is a lawyer. My parents won't forgive me until i've made it big.

Get a grip everyone.

It's not he "end of apple quality" etc. It was a known manufacturing fault, and apple are giving a $300 apology to anyone that receives on of the faulty batch.

I'm not positive that it applies to refurbs but at least you know you can return it at their cost and get a perfect one.

There is a certain lack of quality control with the iMacs. Yellow tint and grey banding issues are other problems with the iMacs.

That's simply not true. statistically they have no more problems than other mac products, which on the whole have far lower defect rates than other computer manufacturers.

They've had some problems with the first batches of new generations of imacs (and you've got to be muppet to buy anything first gen) but it's always been resolved pretty quickly and as stated above they usually give you money back to say sorry while they get you a new unit.
