did for me, i rarely drink anymore...
If the idiot voters in this state pass the liquor laws that allow private grocers and other merchants to supply hard booze and close down the state run liquor stores I will never drink hard alcohol bought in this state again. |
any store that has the proper licence should be able to sell alcohol. |

In Washington only the state can sell hard alcohol. I like it that way. |

Why? |
Its cheaper, they better enforce drinking age laws (even if I do not agree with the current age), and they have a really good selection of alcohol (they are complete stores 100% dedicated to selling hard alcohol and wine). If they do not have something you want then they will special order it for you or have it shipped in from another store that has it.
Also they are a huge source of tax revenue and alcohol is something that should be taxed as it is purely a pleasure item.
If private companies are the only ones allowed to sell it then it will still be taxed but the price will be higher because the stores will attempt to recoup the cost of the taxed amount, where as the state has no motivation beyond selling it for the lowest amount needed including the tax.
There are actually two initiatives on the ballot, one would allow taxing of liquor the other would not allow it and allow prices to be set by a cartel of the liquor producers. |
