While it's losing and the margin has increased a little, most of the high population areas (LA county and SF county included) have turned in less than 10% of the ballots, and those are going to be they key areas for people to vote Yes. It seems the lower population counties, which are a lot more conservative, turned in a lot of their results right away.
Just checked the 10:00 numbers. Margin has closed about 1.5% since 9:30 numbers. (43.76 Yes, 56.24 No -- 9:30 numbers had the Nos at 57.82 or something).
It will probably fail, but there's still 80% of the precincts that need to report state wide, and basically 85-90% left to vote in the major counties where it's prob going to get the best "Yes" vote turnout, so you never know.
edit: just checked latest results out of SF county. went from 20% reporting to 70%.
This one is SF county only. Note that 30 minutes ago, it was still about a 55 yes, 45 no in SF. So it's expanded. NOt sure if the latest state results has these.
Proposition 19
Votes Percent
Yes 82937 63.99%
No 46679 36.01% |

ABC7 in LA says it's now 55% state wide
Also, it's LA County that was 56.24% No, with 8% of precincts reporting so far. I'd expect Orange County to have those numbers, but not LA County. Maybe it was in some boonies of LA County. |
