What r u guys talking about....just cos Tiesto wasnt spinning epic enough it doesnt mean he suck, he doesnt spin trance...I have most of Tiesto's latest sets, all of them are repetitive (same songs but in diff order), but there is a huge difference in the mood of the set. I love all of them, ESPECIALLY ... IMPULZ 2002 - This is insane set, mixed perfectly, and more then perfect compilation. Dutch Dimention is the best ever, but i had enough of it. Heard it 500000000000 millions of times..... Everybody know that Tiesto spins the music, that he feels to spin, @ homelands he felt that was the best to spin and i like that, he can manipulate with styles.
He is the best he will be the best, I am not listenning to anything else but Ferry and Tijs lately... My respect to them. |

1. The Dancetent at Area 2 will not be a commercial event. It will be dark, there will be light shows, and it will not be "concert seating." There will be a full on RAVE in that tent.
2. Tiesto will represent TRANCE. The heart of the festival is different types of music. Therefore TIESTO WILL SPIN TRANCE, diggy will spin prog, and cox will spin house. Every dj is there to represent their music.
3. 50 bucks to see the top djs in all three genres is not expensive...tiesto is our founding father...HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT HIM?? who are you to criticize tiesto....remember trancenergy, dimmesion, and many many many more...

how DARE you say it wont be a commerical EVENT!!.. omg, christ I dont know about this year, but last year it was sponsored by FORD and Microsoft..
so, *you* go represent at this very commercial festival... but then when the authorities say, look this very commercial tour, backed my major (responsible) sponsors is a success.. they'll have yet another reason to ban the real parties, that should be happening in the middle of the night, like they should be... you want to support THAT?
also son, you need to understand that 50$ IS expensive..
I'm telling you if you want to see Digweed in full effect you should meen at Stereo when he layed down a 8hr set 2 months ago.. none of this 2hr bull slot in the afternoon.

Ok, speaking of commercial events, how about all these parties sponsored by Smirnoff, Benson & Hedges, etc...? Those were commercial too, but turned out to be en amazing!
Geez people, some of you are just a bit too ignorant... you don't like commercial events, stay home or keep it "underground" in your basement!
$50 to see the top 3 DJs in Trance, Progressive and Techno/House??!!! That's nothing... just think of all the people that are paying $90-100 to see Moby, Busta es and David Bowie! Now that's not just expensive, that's jokes! |

So what if a Multinational wants to foot the bill so my ticket doesnt cost $200! Ill take it, and Ill enjoy their large advertisement hanging from the stage.
Tiesto is amazing , and partying during the day sucks??? I think we have a lot of ppl on this forum who are either , very young, and havent evolved with the scene, or are to embarassed to wear their fun fur to the Molson Ampitheatre b/c if the Ginos dont beat them up, i probably will. j/k
Anyway, I cant see anything wrong with this event....$50!!!!!! Sasha and Digweed were $55 and ended @ 4am!!
Smirnoff was commercial, and was amazing!!!

I just wanna say one thing, I'm not complaining about how commercial it is.....the only problem I have with that is the kind of people that show up...
The last Smirnoff at Liberty Grand was a great party, but you can tell quite a number of people there didn't really belong there....but you can still go and party it up and meet decent people.....but you live in North America, so accept this fact....
its either commercial events, or hardly any at all! who else will dish out the cash to get these DJs here? its your choice?!?! |

I went to Montreal a few weeks ago to play on a big party called Forza. In that same weekend was the Formula 1 Grand Prix so I picked the best time to visit Montreal. The whole city was dressed up for this weekend and the people are beautifull in this town. They are different from any other city in the world, pretty, friendly, classy and very openminded to music. I played from 01.30 till 07.00 in the morning and it was just great. I mixed different styles together like trance, techno, tribal and uplifting progressive and they wanted it all. It's great when I can play on a party where you can experiment a bit in your set and people appreciate it.

later it even states that he risked his own life travelling all the way to play a gig in Jerusalem, Israel despite all the turmoil there. This really shows how much he's dedicated to his fans. People in these areas don't seem to complain as much as we do about what kinda music he plays. They're just happy to have him. At one point he mentions "these are my people". Does this mean that Tiesto has a Jewish background? can anyone confirm? he certain doesn't look the Nordic type ala. Van Buuren and Corsten.. |

Hey diesedel, i read what tiesto wrote on his website and i am pretty sure he meant that he feels extremely connected with the people in isreal when he plays. I know trance is extremely popular in Isreal and that Tiesto is rated #1 there as far as favorite dj. He really enjoys playing there, and gets mad respect. Who knows if he's jewish, just because u live in Isreal doesn't make you jewish! It would be cool if he was though.
As far as everything else goes on this topic, fantom you rock, i agree 100% with everything you say. Had I not lost my job recently I would of easily spent $50 to see the man tiesto, the man digweed(hello these are two of the most influential and talented dj's in the freakin world), and not to mention dieselboy is one of the best d&b dj's in the world, Moby is probably an amazing entertainer, and unlike some people on this forum, i have an appreciation for music outside of electronic music and would love to see Busta for the THIRD time. Eight hours of entertainment from top musical acts around the world, and you people are complaining.
Who cares if Microsoft is sponsoring it or your second cousin from Alabama is throwing the party in his basement. Good music is good music, and it should not matter if its commercial or not. Personally if your only gonna support the music when its "underground" and turn your head when it is commercial, then your the sell out, and obviously don't care about the music but only care about how you look when your listening to it.
Tiesto is the man and i agree with whoever said he is at the peak of his career. He loves all styles, plays it all, and does a good job doing it. Djs who play more the one style are open-minded and expose the listeners to what electronic music really has to offer. I am sorry but listening to the same style of music all the time is just boring. I used to only listen to tiesto/epic type music then i realized how much is out there, and know i listen and love many styles of electronic music and at a rave u can catch me in any room and i suggest it to everyone!!! I am sorry but you shouldn't bash a dj for expanding his or her horizons, thats just ignorant. Its not like he threw out his trance records and started playing happy hardcore.
To all who are going to Area tomorrow, have fun, i wish i could go and i can't wait to hear about it. and tell tiesto he can play whatever the hell he wants to play, because he is the man, and he can! |

juss wondering about some of you on the TA forums who are against stuff like Area2..
i would not be surprised to see the festival one day dead cuz so many ppl out there are against other types of music they don't listen too. i guess a lotta you would prefer these kinda things not happen at all eh! but what good does that do ?? let's all ease up and enjoy what comes our way.. we're lucky to even have the festival at all. sometimes i think ppl take what we have for granted.. we should appreciate that stuff like this is even in TO. |
