Italodance Mix 1995 (better than eurodance!) ~145BPM

Alright! For Halloween I had a monster DJ bash party at a friend's house - 90s theme. Began the night at about 8pm, started off with hip-hop, R&B and pop, then slowly progressed into eurodance and house, late into the night. At the very end, at about 3:30am, I started with the italodance stuff for the hardcore dance music fans who were still left. As a result, this mix starts via fade-in because I had to edit the previous track out, Scatman John.

A lot of preparation and practice went into that night, one of my best DJ gigs so far. It was wild. Listen to this pumping mix and you'll be able to feel the vibe. Immense yourself in the unique and wonderful sound of italodance. Italians do it better, again! At least 145BPM here!!!

About 124 minutes in length. Downloadable. Tracks are all 1993-1997 (mostly 1995).

You always choose to ace tracks so gonna check this out.

hmm, well. i liked it but some of the transitions, alot of them didn't bother me, and i know it's inevitable when you playing eurodance raw like this but some were nasty. the other thing was that i didn't get a sense of flow other than chugging forward. it was just tunes after another mixed together.

had a listen today, a very fun upbeat mix, great melodies = takes me back many many years :D they dont churn out music like this anymore!!

mixing however not where i would like it to be though, clashes quite alot but the track selection makes up for it almost definitely.

a very motivating mix non the less, cant stop tapping my feet to it :D

Have to agree I'm afraid. Lovely selection of tracks that I enjoyed but yeah some pretty shonky sounding mixes in there. I do think I would have enjoyed this a lot though at an actual party where I'm drunk and not listening as critically.

Eeek! Thanks for the feedback guys, I am a bit shocked that the mixing was rough. It sounded excellent on the dancefloor and I got great feedback, I listened to it also before posting. Playback stats on here look good.

Can you guys tell me which transitions were bad or worthy to note? The mix wasn't intended to be of flow, just dancefloor madness. I noticed that there is some synth-on-synth overload between Track 1 & 2, but as you can see the first track was ending. This is fast stuff and some tracks didn't have the quiet/easy transitions, especially with vocals and such. I tried recording a proper mix few months ago, but failed miserably on mixing it, and gave up. When I had a few beers at this party - I had not a single trainwreck (or did I?).

Damn I suck at mixing :\

EDIT - now listening to it, I think my problem here was that I should've had shorter transitions and avoid synth-on-synth overload, but I was afraid of switching tracks too fast. Shorter tracks require shorter transitions, right? Start transitions at the end of the previous track?

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!! :D

I'm at work right now, and tried listening to this. I was good, I lasted until "Love is the Answer", but there I had to turn off the mix. Until then I was tapping my foot, smiling and doing work, but had I not stopped the music I would have started dancing like an idiot in front of my colleagues. :toothless :happy2:
That track is such a monster!

Will continue at home, but this thing is a joy to listen to. As people said, mixing isn't perfect, but it never is with Euro / Italo. And a set intended for peak time dancefloor madness like this doesn't need any flow other than playing one kick-ass tune after the other. Which it does.

Apart from that the one thing I need to say is MOAR!!!
