Is there a way I can find out why Firefox keeps crashing?

For whatever reason, the latest version of Firefox simply won't run on my notebook. As soon as Windows loads the main screen, it simply freezes and, if I click anywhere, it turns white and Windows warns me it stopped working (as if I couldn't tell). Is there a way I can find out why this is happening? I want FireFTP back, and I'd like to know if it's a plug-in that is causing these crashes, or if the update really has some sort of compatibility issue with my computer.

I'm on Vista, by the way.

There is a little known problem with Firefox updates that leaves your system wide open for attack. For Firefox to have access to internet, it has to disable the firewall/antivirus after having installeded the old files so the fw/avs doesn't stop the reg key changes. It's only open for attack for about 15 seconds, but any good hacker can get the job done and have time for a coffee afterwards in that time.

But, if I deinstall it and get the previous version, it works just fine... wouldn't this make me unable to use Firefox regardless of any future installations :confused:

Vista sucks, but I doubt it's the issue.

I'd report the error to FF and give them a few days to sort out the problem.
