Hey- thanks man, I really appreciate it! Lots of useful info on there- I responded to some of your comments with a couple questions, hope you don't mind. :)

Only had a listen through my laptop, but it sounds promising..
The intro could do with another effect in there between the white noises (around 44sec mark) you just expect something but there's nothing (imo). You could maybe introduce a few more little sounds through out the whole intro (its abit bland), which would then progress through the track, as it progresses, to beef it up abit (again imo).

Keep at it sean.

Update FULL LENGTH TRACK Dec 18th

Seventeen Full Length by Seandroid

The track is full length now, I worked a lot on the track and added a whole bunch of new effects, worked on making the hook sound fuller and more interesting and got rid of some of the harsher frequencies, plus the intro of the track is far more interesting now, and the new bridge and break before the final hook is maaaaassssiiiiive.

Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I am making it.

PS: The track is still a WIP, not necessarily done, but it's full length and now just comes the final tweaking :)

I think this displays a lot of hard work and care. Seems prett clear mix wise to. The main lead sound is not for me but that could be a taste thing.

Cheers

I really appreciate it man, thanks for the support, and yeah, I think it's just a personal taste thing, quite a few of the comments on here were people who really liked the lead.

The tail on the reverb sounds like it gets cut off suddenly, fix that, let the tail keep going... nice FM synth to build up. Breakdown comes too soon. Give us some tension building to work with before you release the full chord progression. The crash has a clash in there, it sounds harsh. Nice synth work, but your reverb from your other instruments are overwhelming it.

After the breakdown, that synth has huge character, and I'm glad you didn't rape the post-breakdown with tech edits like Wolfgang, it makes it flow better. I imagine some floaty strings on the top. Something to add an organic feel to the tracks. That middle octave bass/lead you have is very nice and FM. I feel like your reverbs are out of control. They should occupy the frequency range of the synth that compliments it the most, so try and isolate that range and be careful about over abundant reverb sounds. nice wind up, but when the crash hits, it sounds clashed and distorted.

Very nice after the breakdown, but it does have an over-limited quality too it which distorts the sound. I'm listening at full system volume, and excellent head phones. Dry up your effects of the background elements, and led your excellent lead soar through the mix, it will do really really well. You have a fantastic element with that lead, so loosen and shorten the reverb on the other elements if you want to show off and be proud of that nice synth.

Huge wide synth for the bassline, and you have it so the actual sub and bass frequencies are not widened but stay isolated in the mono below a certain frequency, pro work right there. Keep it up.

This is a really good track :)

edit: most tracks don't have a solid theme rings through, and i think you have a great theme here. this is definitely a peak-hour song right here, congratulations. just refine it.

The 'distortion' you're hearing on the cymbal crash is most likely the fact that it's layered over an explosion sound :D

I know what you mean about the tail of the reverb being too short on the beginning of the first break, I agree completely and that was one of the things I was already going to fix :)

Now with the debate about the reverb being overwhelming in the breakdown, that was intentional, actually, I didn't really want to give anything too much presence because as opposed to going for a "trancey" breakdown I was aiming for something that sounded almost ambient in nature and makes the hook of the track super surprising the first time you listen to it, As if the main drag of the track literally explodes out of the break.

In the hook I'm 100% completely surprised you felt that it was too reverby, actually :tongue2 I got a couple of replies stating it was too dry before so I added some delay to the synth and automated it out in the stop, and that was actually one of the things I liked about it. In the hook the only thing that has a substantial reverb on it is actually lead.

Glad you like the track though man!

PS: Listen on the last hook for the floaty strings you seek. ;)

Don't wanna sound desperate, but anyone else? Just trying to see if I can get some final opinions on everything before I do anything final, I think this is the first track I'm going to test my water with some labels with.

Had another listen and here's my subjective ideas for ya;

1) A reverse swoosh should preceed break one

2) It gets a bit repetetive so to develop more of a jounrey I personaly would want to use filters to have sections with that underwater hard closed feel - I know it's all been done before but for me this track cries out fro those sections to give contrast

3) It's feeling too long. I find different tracks have a natural legnth which suits them and this one FOR me should be about 6 mins

4) Again my taste, but a lot more swooshes etc would add to the sense of anticipation throughout. Don't rush them or they will not sound pro.

Otherwise this is a good piece of work with a distinct personality.
