The 10th release on Mija Recordings comes from one of Sweden’s fast rising underground talents, Mr. Per Hammar.
Per is from Malmö in the south of Sweden where lives and records in his studio. In the past two years he has been building his status as an underground producer of the highest order with releases on labels such as Great Stuff, Starlight, Kant & SK Supreme. His track “Bang” on Great Stuff was a huge hit earlier in the year gaining attention from many of the worlds elite DJ’s including Umek, Kaiserdisco, DJ Madskillz, Spektre, Saeed Younan and Wally Lopez. The track gained numerous licences and stayed in the Beatport tech-house top 10 for a number of weeks. He has also been DJing across Sweden and Europe further cementing his reputation as a future star.
Mija boss Louis Osbourne was a fan of “Bang” and many of Per’s other trax so he invited him to do some trax for the label, and we are glad to say Per has upped his game again! First up is “El Salvador”, a bass-heavy, jackin, tech-house, peak time bomb! This has been road tested by a select handful and has kicked some booty on the floor. Per follows this with “Tundra”, a slightly deeper track, with crisp percussion, smooth chord stabs and a bumping sub-bass, not as direct as “El Salvador” yet equally as classy. Both these trax define the sound that Per has been developing, intelligently arranged, groove driven tech house.
On remix duties are Irelands bright new act Hypertic. They have racked up releases this past year on Resopal Schallware, Love Hertz, FVF Records, Aciitone, Simplex and Malatoid Records, and recently remixed Hans Bouffmyhre. We have just signed a 3 track EP from the lads to Mija so thought it would be good to introduce them to the label with a remix. They take on “El Salvador” giving it a tasty re-rub retaining many of the original elements whilst adding their own lead synth riff and some extra vocal snippets. A nice label debut for a new act that we feel has great potential!
This release again shows Mija is not afraid to bring new talent on board as long as they fit with the label policy of presenting high quality underground electronic dancefloor trax… thankfully we think you’ll agree these guys tick all the boxes with these trax! Rave on…….
