Is it a DJ or a Jukebox?

Just wondering what you think of people requesting a track when a big name DJ comes to play?
PvD was playing and people were writing tracks on paper and holding it up, writing massages on their phones like "are you going to play..." and I ing hate it!
I'm there to hear PvD playing, not whatever track you feel like listening to. Go home and play it yourself. I just feel it's insulting the DJ, like telling them that you know better than them what track to play.
Do any of you who DJ get people doing that, and does it you?
Just my bitch for the day.

But, when it happens ALL THE TIME, it gets annoying. A DJ like Paul van Dyk shouldn't need people to tell him what track to play! After all, he's been doing it for years! |

| I don't think he cares. It's like in rock concert when ppl ask for the band's most popular song, and then the band deliberately waits until the end of the concert and like does the crowd a favor. They love that . Besides, I think the big name DJs are commercialized and care more about the money than the 'art'... |

It did start to piss him off when they would try and reach around the screen and were waving requests for Faithless it in front of his equipment.
And last time he played in Sydney a girl trying to get her record signed knocked the stylus of the record that was playing. So it was interrupting the music. |

dammit! this happens to me all the time!!!!
in my last few parties, I just don't answer.... I say "I'm working. you're interrupting me!!!" or I just yell at them......
that can completely distract you from your set... it really sucks.......
once I was DJing at this party and I was right in the middle of a mix...... head down, phones on, etc.... and while I was ajusting the pitch, this guy comes to me and starts to give my hand little slaps.... (to get my attention). it distracted me and moved the pitch completely off where is was supposed to be, and completely ed up my mix!!!!
then I quickly changed the tracks and look at him with REALLY angry eyes........ then, the guy requested blink 182...... and I was like "WHAT! GET THE F*CK AWAY FROM ME, YOU SON OF A BITCH!!!"
damn...... I was so pissed from that.......... |

The most i've done is give the Dj the thumbs up when a top track gets dropped. Fark i know it takes a lot of concentration, so don't bother 'em.
I'm there to hear what the dj plays, not what i want him/her to play. For sure, for an international or big dj, i'll be hoping for some tracks to be dropped, but half the fun is going nuts to tracks you don't know the name of, and then finding out later on. |

YES!!! I'm not the only one!!!!!
If you're djing and you're playing something like "Deep Swing - In the music" and somebody comes to me and say "Put some Rock n Roll..."
I dont have anything against Rock N Roll but i cannot respond to this... Its really pathetic!!!! This kind of people deserve a drink!!! A poison drink.
