Darn it..thought this was a thread about football!
sorry but wasnt a part of the "discussion" u guys had before so...
well anyways my favorite Football team are the NY GIANTS!!
Too bad they lost the superbowl this year.. :( |

Well in Australia we have our own type of football - technically it is called Australian Rules Football so that is justified. I don't understand why gridiron (American football) is called football. I am not flaming or trying to piss anyone off - but since there might be oh, like, 10 kicks in a game?? (no idea if this is a realistic number)
why is it called FOOTball??

| well the reason is the back in the day there was more kicking envoled...there is 3 forms of kicking.... Field goal,punt, and teh Drop kick.....the drop kick is similar to rugby kinda kicking where any player can drop kick from anywhere and get 2 points if they get it through the goal posts....thats why i think it was called Football when it was first created...but now that the Drop kick doesnt at all happen anymore..and most people dont eveen know about it...its can be kinda confusing to why they called it Football! |

Actually my fav. team is Real Madrid,but I voted for our little team that did it great in the champion's league :Anderlecht,'cause i don't think they will get much votes :)
