me, it does not take much for the irrational hate to come spewing out. A dispute over commercial flight paths is clearly enough of an excuse for some deep-seated prejudices to raise their ugly heads.
It is a struggle to have a cordial discussion with someone who plays the anti-Semite card when someone else is critical of a national government's actions. It is as immature and stupid as dismissing everyone who is critical of the UAE government's actions in this matter as racist and anti-Muslim. It's also as wrong as stating that the Israeli government's past behaviour is anti-Muslim, instead of what it is, which is anti-Palestinian.
Is it not possible to have a clear-headed debate about the comparative actions of two governments, without resorting to sweeping generalisations and racist stereotypes of the rest of a country's population, whose millions of inhabitants have no control over how a few bureaucrats behave? If not, maybe the UAE would be justified in lambasting Canada as anti-Muslim for their decision on flight routes.
Also, what exactly are 'our values', if not universal principles of the right to self-determination and freedom to govern? Aren't those the very reasons that the likes of Harper used for 'liberating' Iraq? Since countries such as France, India and the UK have been more critical of Israel than Canada, are they anti-Semitic? |

I am not gonna criticize anyone for their beliefs here ... but I am neither a Jew-lover nor a Muslim-hater. People who know me well, they understand. I am not gonna go in detail, as I do not want this to become the 1000th Israel vs. Palestine thread. I am critical of these "royal families" of UAE and Saudi Arabia, I discussed these before and will not touch down on that here because its not the topic.
I am fiercely pro-Canadian, and I disagree with a lot of things that are going on in the entire Persia-Mesopotamia-Arabian Peninsula-Holy Land area. That includes American occupation, too. So please don't brand me anti-Muslim or whatever, unless you know me well.

Well if you think it's ok to label them as jew haters, based on your stereotyping, you're an Arab/Muslim hater |
