It’s an all-American affair on this release as the hugely talented Parker & Hanson open their Anjuna account with ‘Alquimia’. The opening track from Above & Beyond's Anjunabeats Volume 8, it doesn’t take long to figure out why this was chosen to kick off proceedings on that flagship compilation; atmospheric and hypnotic throughout, its ghostly break (complete with wraith-like female vocals) is the standout moment on this mesmeric, progressive gem.
Fellow Statesider and Anjuna man-of-the-moment Andrew Bayer assumes remix duties on a rework that, as expected, shows off his craftsmanship and keen ear for deep, dreamy melodies to the max and complements the Original Mix nicely as well - already chosen as an ASOT Tune Of The Week by Armin Van Buuren.
