1080p means progressive scan of resolution 1920*1080pixels, in every frame you have 1080 lines of 1920pixels each.
1080i means interlace scan, so in each frame you can see only odd lines, in next frame only even lines. So resulution twice lower, than in progressive scan. All HD channels broadcasting for the moment in interlace mode, don't know why, maybe to reduce video stream |

unfortunately, NO. You can see clearly interlace in Tiesto Bly-Ray from Copenhagen. Also i have a few recordings of Wimbledon, US Open, Australian Open and Roland Garros finals in HD, the same situation. You can clearly see sometimes mised lines. |

| It also depends on frames per second. In interlace mode there is twice more frames. Anyway, it much better than Sd quality! For the moment it couldn't be better |
