It's no secret that Joel has blown up to epic proportions but every once in a while he does something that makes me shake my head in near disbelief - example:

This morning he uploaded a 4min sample of a new track he's been hammering away at and in approximately 10hrs it's been listened to more than 41,500 times! Almost unfathomable!

Here's the track:

Deadmau5 - Get In The Cart, Pig. by mylife

Ya ya, ball-washing - whatever.

I just want to congratulate the guy for achieving his dreams. I'm quite envious haha.

Plus, I know this thread will generate some ridiculous replies - so, flame on!

it is amazing what he has achieved in a very short period of time. That being said....the sample doesn't seem all that inspired to me....the first 3/4 of it sounds very common.

I don't disagree that he is talented....but talent alone does not get you to where he is.

Talent + Brilliant Marketing + Right Time + Right Place + Extremely Hard Work. That's pretty much what it takes.

I like where the track ends up going. Always respect Joel's production skills; he's got er' figured.

This.

By advertising this track as something to "one-up strobe" he set some pretty high expectations - can't say I'm crazy about this one, considering there's no real melody or lead chord after the drop, but no doubt the finished product will be a lot better.

mau5 is only where he is today because he dated sydney blu :clown:

I agree the end of the track is good.....and I could see it getting people moving...but the first 3/4 would put me to sleep....maybe that was his plan.

Another "way to go deadmau5" thread? aren't there like 41,500 of them? I like his tunes as much as the next guy, but come on...

It's funny when people use his first name like they grew up with him.
