Hey guys. About 2 weeks ago I finished my newest track..

(360 kbps)
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9202337/Gil...Elegance%20.mp3

When I started this one I was really disappointed with the whole genre sounding pretty much the same, I.e. Musicless intro, 4-chords epic breakdown, climax and outro. (Anjunabeats syndrome)

I wanted to make something that was 100% MY taste, with only that in mind. Not aiming for the mainstream (money) or making it easy to play by a DJ on account of the artistic value, which is the only definition for most of today's tracks.

Hope you enjoy and please comment if you did!

F.E.A.R 3 was what came to my mind when i heard the first 2 minutes....:)

pardon me for asking, but why are you uploading a 320 kbs sample on the internet after sending it to a label.

The quality and the creativity of this is amazing. Very beautiful and cinematic but some anjunabeat whore is going to come in and rip it because it doesn't sound like all the other tracks

It's good, but you need to take it down ASAP mate. Big labels like Armada won't sign tracks that are already available in full on the web, if they hear this you're doomed!

Which is unfortunate, because it should. The track is amazing, unique and powerful, but simply because it's not EXACTLY what people expect it won't get released on anything major.

Who knows though, try a smaller label. Sometimes big things happen with little labels, look at Pleasurekraft, they're tech house but that's irrelevant, they went from zero to hero on "Eklektisch" which doesn't even have a proper website and runs via Myspace.

They rocked number one on Beatport with Tarantula and now are huge enough that they actually have their own label.

Though it seems like everyone has a label these days. WANNA SIGN ON SEANDROID RECORDS WE R LE AWESOME

thought it sounded like amateur video game music. The orchestral parts are brutal. Maybe it is because I do orchestral based music as a profession that this seems rather bad but it made me cringe. Orchestration was terrible. Use of themes and form weak. The sound libraries chosen are not realistic. The harmony was very rudimentary and cliche with matching bad voice leading. I suppose good effort if it was your first attempt at something non EDM but as it stands, you don't have anywhere near the proper skills to pull of this sort of genre.

i really enjoyed this, i don't think it will find much of a home to be honest but would be great as an album track or something.
You have some great potential for trance.

I like people who strive to do thier own thing and be original but the track as whole wasn't cohesive for me. The faster part sounded fairly standard in terms of sounds. The slower first part was pleasant and nicely mixed. The last part - I thought I was in a motel and the pianist had struck up. But after the piano stopped was the strongest part of the track for me, and I would have liked the whole thing to work off of that part.

What needs to be done with this one is simply, fix up the orchestral samples, program some unique fx, and add a few harmony/counterpoint layers to the arrangement
