some people in my area dont post here because they feel that the new york area doesent cover this area.i think we will have a dc,md,de,va,pa area here one day and i think it will attract those people back to the site.but the clubglow forum should be off the hook and its dead.its not managed well at all sooo..i dont know.

but.

i think a lot of old skoolers have moved on musically though, particularly around my area.i see very very few of the people out at the clubs that i knew from around the time i joined this site.

a lot of them simply were attracted to the popularity of the music or dj itself at that time though.you wouldnt see these people out for any dj that wasnt armin, pvd, tiesto, ferry, etc.once electronic music started its downturn i saw a lot of these people disappear.

a lot of these same people were in it for the drug aspect of it also.then the next thing you know your out of college or your youth is over and your not taking x every week and hey!.. that real job starts tomorrow!your married, getting married, have kids, having a kid,bills,wife,kid,job,bills,wife,kid,job...

rinse,lather,repeat.

next thing you know...who has time for music?(or to go out for that matter)

i saw that happen to a lot of people.just as i watched a lot of these people jump from music genre to music genre as well.particularly when house started to get "big" again (im speaking from the dc area).next thing you know these people are saying trance is lame and their all about house music now.

a year later their into something else.(not that it should be surprising that electronic music attracts the add crowd)

and thats fine.a lot of them will look back at those moments they were into electronic music and tell their friends it was "the craziest days of their lives".and they will be right.because sadly for them it will be.for every one of them who moves on it opens the door for someone who really appreciates the music to come in.

i looked at the people into the scene in 2001 and said "in 5 years ill never see these people in the music scene".ive been about 95% right.

for me,every time i slip on my headphones and play a new track that gives me goosebumps i know why im still into this music.

sorry no cor version.just my thoughts.

There needs to be a significant member base in order to constitute creating a new sub-form. If you provide proof in numbers.... we can create a petition to Swamper with this idea, however I make no guarantees whether he will be up for it.

It's funny, I've noticed it's kind of the opposite in NY, if you take a break from the partying and come back in a couple of years, nothing will have changed much. Yeah, sure, there are the ones that get married but they still make it out every once in a while to get ed up and listen to music to keep their sanity, and even occasionally bring out the kiddies for day parties. Just because you're married, it doesn't mean your life is over, I know several married couples (even with kids) that come out quite often (myself included). The lifestyle is just different in NY, to me living in DC was always more of a transition, I had to get out of there to feel like my life could start. But then again, I never felt all that comfortable in DC like in NY. Ppl in DC are more traditional (for lack of a better word) and just plain different, add the fact that there are so many colleges in the DC area, a lot of the people just leave the area after college is over; probably why there are always lots of young kids out in DC, but in NY most of the ppl I see out are in their late 20's/30's, even some in their 40's: ppl come to NY to stay, at least for a while. Now that in the past few years trends in DC have been changing, maybe the whole scene is different, but not really something to look forward to like in big cities.

Tastes in music always change, if it didn't, things would be incredibly stale. Now most trance to me is like nails on a chalkboard and predictable overall and the more I got into different genres, my tastes changed. A lot of the kids going out first get into trance and they move on to other genres, that's mostly how it's always been, staying stuck in time is just boring. I could elaborate a lot more, but it seems like a tired topic to me.

Here are the requirements for a new subforum (copied from the site suggestions section)

Information: Rules on the addition of new regional forums:
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...7&forumid=5&s=1

As forum members are often requesting regional forums for their area's, we have set out the following criteria that must be met. Please make sure that you have met the below criteria before 'formerly' asking for a forum to be made.

1) Active users. You need 20 (minimum) active users to have a forum created for that region.

2) They all need to come from the same country. Regional forums are created for users from a particular country/region, not because they all speak the same language. We've often had requests for a forum based on x amount of people all speaking the same language, but living in 10 different countries. This is not what regional forums are about. They are about discussing local events, meet ups, whats going on generally in ur region/country. This doesnt work if you all come from different countries.

3) Moderators. Moderators have the fun task of keeping the forum functioning, with sticky threads (like this one), behaviour moderating and all that. If you have a new forum, you will more than likely make a moderator. Please wait until your forum is flurishing with active threads and active posters before trying to decide on a moderator. In the past some members have tried to elect a mod before the forum is even made. To elect a mod, once the forum is up and running please make a thread, and all people who wish to be a mod nominates themselves. Once all the nominations have been registered, make a poll listing them all and leave it upto your forum gathering to decide a new mod. If none of the current mods can prove he/she would be an unwise candidate for the forum, they shall be granted modship.

I think thats about it, hopfully it'll clear up the unwritten (until now) on new forum and only have genuine, and prepared cases for new forums in here.
