Tell me what you think. The other tracks I have up there are from last year, and they're very progressive and pushing into the experimental, but I think my producing skills are improving.
So I decided to make this track. I have never tried full on trance before. I know it needs some work, and the original mix will be remixed and remixed again to add flavor to it. I'm not quite too fond of the melody when it first starts out, and the lead is kinda annoying to me (i'm never satisfied).
I've also been working with a guitarist on a rock project, but hoestly, it's taking time away I could be making quality music instead. That rock project is very very VERY amature and I'm just not into it anymore. We can't even find a good singer or drummer. I want to get signed eventually, and producing quality stuff takes up a LOT of time.
Last year I was producing with nothing more but Ableton Live, some vsts, and a RCA stereo. Now I have an M-audio Fast Track Pro and 2 KRK Rockit 5s. I have a UC33E and a Keyrig that I use from time to time, they work alright. Sometimes I feel like my gear is still substandard and they're mear toys in the long run. I still have yet to buy a newer computer and that is really holding me back. I don't have much money to throw around as I have 2 small children.
So, I guess what I'm wondering is, what do you guys recomend for me? I'm a stay at home dad right now, and have ALL day to work on tracks. One of my goals is to definitly get signed within the year. I need some direction. Please help! |
