Got great news! I'll be doing a guest mix here in Los Angeles for 107.1 FM's new EDM mixshow, Super Estrella Afterhours on Sat. Dec 4th!
This is my first time doing a guest spot on an EDM show and really looking forward to it. I'm not sure what I'll be playing yet. They gave me the OK to be my self and play anything I wanted!
I'm really pushing my self this time because I wanna be able to have a least one track finished by then so I could play it on air. I never finish my tracks, I just make loops and save them. lol I never even made a build up, so this will be interesting. lol
This is a big deal for me because as you know LA is the #2 radio market in the USA. There's several million listeners at any given time. Plus, real EDM in LA radio pretty nonexistent.
Really excited! I'll keep you guys posted as the date gets near. I already got some promos by some very known friends that I'll be airing.

Listen at the end. I sent the TA's a shout out. :D
Please excuse the poor quality and the audio skips. I have a HiQuality recording without all the people talking and without the skips. If anyone wants it, just ask.
Don't forget to visit my website to show me some love. www.DjWoody.com
::: Dj Woody - Live on Super Estrella Afterhours (Dec. 5, 2010) :::
1.- We Love - Don't Cross
2.- Mason - You Are Not Alone
3.- Antix - Lost & Found (Jamie Stevens Golden Return Remix)
4.- Max Cooper - Enveloped (Ryan Davis Reconstruct Remix)
5.- Chymera - Dreamrunner (Funk D'Void Remix)
Grats man! Real EDM is nonexistent in the USA, always good to see the radio giving it a chance.

Congrats, dude! Now, quit screwing around on TA and get that original track done! :D

for your last track, rick roll the ******s

if you've never actually made a track, it will probably suck and you will be rated on the tracks you play, not how you mix. Just tell them that you will play one of your tunes. All that matters is that people think you are a producer.
Dj_Kile
congrats dude , post it here afterward , don't tell us witch track is yours :P
no actually m4b is right , give them the idea that you'll play a track of yours and it's still an id
DJ RANN
Congrats Woody - I'm gonna listen live to it!!!
My spanish is rubbish though - are you doing it in english?
Rodri Santos
play mashups and edits to get a better effect than playing a first production. People won't notice the difference.
DjWoody
Thanks guys...
The show is in english, so no worries there. lol
I haven't decided what I'm going to play, but I wanna stay away from Dirty Dutch as much as possible! hahaha
I'm with you guys, my first prod will probably suck. If anything, I think I will probably end up doing what Rodri said, and do some sort of EDM mashups.
But only problem is when I play EDM, I can either go really dark or really commercial. lol I want this show to come out good because I wanna use it as a tool to try to get some gigs out of it.
DjWoody
BTW, if you guys have something you think it's worth getting some airplay, feel free to send me promos. If it fits along the style I'll play that night, I won't have a problem playing your track. But if I don't play it, don't get butthurt either, nothing personal but it probably means it didn't go with what I had in mind.
You guys helped me out a lot before, and this is only a small token of appreciation.

probably best to get a gig before the show so you have something to promote and the club gets free advertisement. Just go cold calling all suitable venues and explain that you are being featured on the radio and if they want to take advantage of the situation. Getting a gig after the show would be harder as you have nothing to really offer that a 100 other djs couldn't do.
Having a demo from the show is pointless. The only thing that matters about the show is that you can say you did the show as nobody will really be paying attention.
