| The clubs and talent might make more money by having 2 weeks of events, sure, assuming the talent sticks around and they can convince enough people to spend 2 weeks in the city vs. 1. |

I thought I heard Bicentennial Park was under construction, so Ultra was being moved back to the original location Bayfront. This would downsize the capacity of the festival and also make sense why the early birds are already sold out. |

Just read that the conference itself could not secure a hotel to be the host the last week of March. Most were booked up for pool parties and other events.
To add to the mix - Winter party is March 9-14 which is a gay circuit party that brings in herds of men. So getting or finding a hotel or condo could be quite impossible or very expensive that weekend.
We are definitely skipping out the weekend of March 8-12. We were only planning to go for the weekend this year so we will wait to see what gets announced. |

| Perhaps the conference will actually go back to being a conference and the jersey shore contingent can now have a week all to themselves. :) |

thank you for clearing it up, so as it looks march 22-27/28 will be the majority of the pool and club parties iam guessing
i had my condo booked but canceled it yesterday, but now iam tryin to get it back ha ha i jumped the gun and got nervious but i got my flight already
american airlines from lga to mia round trip was like $250 not bad at all |

Yea they (Space) tried to extend the Conference by a week one year (think it was 06 or 08 I can't remember) and it was a total failure, so I can't imagine there being that much more money to be made in having the weeks split up like this.

Wow they really dropped that ball on that one. You'd think they of all people would be one of the first to get their sorted out.

WMC can be kinda douchey, if you go to the wrong parties (ie. see the big NYC djs, or other cheesey djs). Outside of that the crowd's are great. Go to a Minus / Circo Loco / Cadenza party or something else along those lines and it's pretty much mostly Europeans. Or that's what I seemed to notice anyways. |

| but what im saying is that it used to be mostly industry people and bbqs. Also people who actually went to the conference to network and exchange music and ideas. The parties were amazing. Im hoping all the tourists all go the last week and then ill be at the conference :) |

I will never understand why people from NYC go to WMC only to attend partys with NYC DJs...

unless its a pool party thats the only exception cause its a change of venue, other then that go see dj's who dont come around to often and make the best of it |
