The artists can get the same promotion by doing free give-a-ways of their tracks if they want to.

It is illegal to distribute music that is not yours, but that doesn't make the site illegal. It's just being used in an illegal way much too often.

If the site is being used in an illegal way then they should be shut down...no second chances. I would fully support large fines for sites accepting illegally distributed music. I would suggest fines in the tens of millions of dollars for a first time offense plus shutting down the site.

And what would that change? The people would just move on to the next one.

if these sites are being fined millions of dollars it won't take long before people stop opening these sites....there will be no profit in it.

it's not the same, that would be theft not piracy.

He is responsible of making music, with better music people would value his work, a lot of people still would download illegally, but what you can't expect is that people buy your tracks on a regular basis when you are tricking them, no originality, no production values , no noticeable effort behind the production etc... it is obvious that they get the money from gigs and that most of them don't care at all of the incoming, only of the popularity that productions give to them, being top 1 beatport general chart means money but foremost exposure.

Would be different if production was the big income, i dj and begun to produce recently, right now djing is like a 2nd job, this people should think that maybe djing isn't his main job yet. I don't expect big gigs internationally and thousands of downloads every day for what i've done and very few deserve this in fact.

Music IS a right! artists should definitely earn money from their productions but i don't think that the more money you've got=the more music you're entitled to consume. life sucks enough as it is.

Of course its not a right, just like food, water and shelter...money is the central of our human experience and only people who have it are allowed to have the premium package of it.
