So, I guess I'm a Droid geek now. It was very much a spur-of-the-moment thing. I went in to upgrade my wife's phone to a Droid X and found out I could upgrade my work phone to a Droid Incredible for free. Anyway, I'm admittedly pretty clueless as to what music-related apps are available, so anybody have any advice? I know that there are some cool apps for the iPhone and I assume (hope) that there are some for the Droid as well????

Xiia Live! is great for shoutcast apps and streams.
PowerAMP is a solid player with an EQ that will let you browser your folder structure.
There is a cheap soundcloud app too that will let you play favorites and such (although I've had mixed results when my 3G networks change).
Dropbox is available for it too if you utilize that system for music transfer (also makes moving stuff back and forth insanely easy).
I could also suggest about 100 other apps but wouldn't be music related haha ^^ Have an Evo myself and wouldn't trade it for the world.

Hey Dave
Just got rid of my g1 (I beat the hell out of it) but there are some good music apps:
Electrum Drum Machine/ROMpler (wicked)
Soundcloud Droid (useful)
Netox Drum Kit (never used)
and then....

Cryo, I recently after some research, I purchased Nanostudio and Redrum for iphone, didnīt use it much, but it seems a great portable mini studio to work and lay down ideas when out of the studio!..
In their web page they have a fully workable pc mac version... I think there is a Droid version, here is their link

nice find Tom! I recommend you don't dl Angry Birds ; )
I have a nexus one myself, love it! I actually have XM Radio on mine, it's really cheap (maybe $2 a mo) and use it for working out, biking, at work, etc. I have the soundcloud app, it's decent at best and i use doubletwist for my music app. I use voice recorder for voice notes (which i use a lot). I also replaced my MMS/SMS w/ handcent which is pretty

Hey Antony, I'm kind of bummed that I'm no longer Android - My G1 was hurting (abuse) and went for a HTC HD2. Hardware wise, it's the most stunning phone I've ever had - it;s truly a thing to behold, the screen is ridiculously large and hi res, to the point I'm actually happy to watch films on it.
The downside is windows Mobile (6.5) which ing sucks compared to android mainly because the marketplace (for apps) is so crap it's basically not worth using.
XDA forums are good for apps, and some of those guys are ninjas, but it's a bit of a mission to find the good stuff, but worth it.
I can only hope WM7 is going to be good...otherwise I'm going to be forced to try one of the Android ports for the HD2...now that would be wicked :whip:

I'd love to go back 25 years and show everybody the Fairlight in my pocket

woot! TouchOSC for android just got released today :)
Dang! I didn't think it was going to happen for droid. Seriously thinking about breaking out my battered G1 for this. If ONLY it would control the master volume fader on my echo interface mixer software...I could use it as my master volume control.
@nitride - that looks actually quite incredible. You can set bandwidth so if you have crap data reception, the program automatically resamples the audio to lower rate, so it can be streamed. Very clever indeed and it's great to acces you entire music collection wherever you are.
Bloody Norwiegans strike again. At least they do something with all that welfare paid spare time ;)

Why would they not release it for Android? It's the fastest growing OS.
My Desire HD should arrive within a week or two. Can't wait for some music app action!

We get the crappy programs and games, while the iphone gets most of the goodies.
Its probably because all iphones are the same, while Android phones vary a lot in specs.
