It's not so much generic, as it just sounds very dated. It would have been huge perhaps 5 years ago but the market has moved from sounds like these in my opinion.
The flanged/phased sound gets a wee bit old, and there really isn't a chorded/melodic element to speak of that one would groove to.
The back end doesn't work too well to my ears either from an instrumentation feeling.
You've got some cool sounds but I don't hear a cohesive melodic drive in the track. Rather the bass line has got good punch to it, but other than that I'm not hearing something to grab me.
Keep working though! You can get there. |
