The MID nightclub?

Does anybody know any info about this club? I see that Steve Angello has a scheduled date to play at that venue but I can't seem to find any information on the club/tickets/flyer.

This is their web

I'm hopeful that the new owners will actually invest some money and do a proper renovation of the space in lieu of just re-naming it and painting it. Chicago could use a proper new club, and it doesn't hurt that its 3 blocks from my place! Ha. I'm wondering if that Steve Angello event is going to get cancelled. Haven't heard anything about the club until I saw it on this board...and if you open up a club and its not heavily promoted and talked about from the get-go....good luck. Anyone know anything more about this place?

on Chicago north coast festival facebook page, they posted that The Mid is now hiring

their upcoming lineup is horrible, trendy electronic music along the lines of steve aoki. no thanks.

Well, they were SUPPOSED to have Steve Angello, but, as expected, that was cancelled (or I am assuming it was). I'm sure the place is not yet renovated, hence the cancellation. Being that there is an utter lack of nightclubs for a city the size of Chicago, I want to support the place. I am hoping that put in a Funktion 1 system, a good lighting system and just do a proper renovation. If it's a half-ass turnaround, I wouldn't expect it to stick around very long. But, that said, I don't think it's a terrible line-up--not all my cup of tea, but it's not like they have Pauly D coming in (yet). Let's give it some time--but people will need to come out to support or this club, like many others before it, will close fast.

Hrmm... So, this place hasn't opened yet? Do you think they'll have a dress code?

I plan on heading down there for JFK on January 7th. Why not?
Miamilawdj2004
No--it hasn't opened yet. NYE is their opening night. I have no idea about dress codes. I think that is part of the problem. What could be the biggest nightclub opening in at least a couple of years is but 2 weeks away--and hardly a peep about it. YES-they have a website--but they really should be on this and every other message board marketing and promoting the place. Metromix has nada nor do any other publications or forums I've seen. Who is behind this place? Personally I follow djs--not clubs. I go where the dj I like is spinning. But curiosity may get the best of me and I may show up just to check the place out.

Isn't Relode behind the Mid? I've been following them since North Coast, and they've been heavily promoting it on that front.

I guess I would assume their dress code is as strict as Sound-Bar/Vision/Spy-Bar... I have some raver friends that I plan on bringing with me. Do you think they'll get turned away at the door if the aren't in clubber garb?
Miamilawdj2004
Well I am not the one to be asking--but I would obviously tell them better to be safe than sorry. The asswipe door nazis outside of v-live turned me away for not having black dress shoes on. Mind you I had a military I'd and did not look like a hoodlum. Based on that--I'd where "clubber garb as you say and black shoes. Only reason I was even at V-live was to see Chris Lake, which was a good booking--dont think ILl be going back. There are ways to deal with people and situations without being a jackass--those at V-Live never got that memo.
