^^^ I don't really see the point for multitimbrality these days with all the computing power we have...
@ the op: predator is OK, the other's are useless. You really need a selection of synths, so maybe you should think about a package like NI komplete, the Arturia collection, or something similar.
Other good ones are omnisphere, Z3ta, Gladiator, Chameleon etc. |

I've got NI Komplete and the Arturia collection. The ARP 2600 is awesome, but the whole reason style setup is confusing. |

Well then you really shouldn't need anything else.
The 2600 is not a "reason style setup" dude. Read up on modular synths, you've already got the two most powerful packages out there.
Also, you can make a bass on any synth, or did you mean like an upright bass sample library? Your question is unclear. |

I know, I just call it a "Reason setup" because of the Modular interface and all the virtual cables and such (Reason has pretty much the same thing so thats where the whole nickname "Reason Setup" comes from :P) I also know you can make any Bass on a Synth i was just wondering if there were specific synth plugins that are better for Basses. |

The answer is No.
*Although I personally like analogue modelled instruments better for bass, like the moog models by arturia etc, because they have a bit more grunt behind them that some aesthetically digital synths (obviously, they're all digital, but some really play up this aspect of their character). |

trillian is probably one of the better deals and if you are looking for bass sounds, it is rather great. Not quite a synth but the way they allow you to manipulate the rompler makes it almost seem like you are working with a synth. It is also a good way to start learning how all the classic synths sounded. But like most analog synths, the sounds take up too much space and have to be EQ'd quite a bit where as a thinner vst would fit in the mix with much less hassle.
They also update often and the plugins are one of the few that are actually 64 bit. Great company that releases classic software that are still just as relevant a decade later. |

| Trillian sounds really fat straight out of the box. |

| Another huge +1 for any Spectrasonics product, especially Trillian. There's a company that deserves your hard earned money. |

| Trilogy/Trillian is really the best way to go. |
