You do realize you're talking to the psychedelic GOD, right?
hmm, coming from someone who shrooms quite often, that music basilik posted does not seem very psychedelic to me either. shrug. or were you being sarcastic?

Psychedelic influenced techno is alot less psychedelic than say full on or forest psy. It has influences in there and has a distinct sound if you listen carefully. Not to say that it could not but yeah. This is coming from someone who meets lucy very often.

A majority of that mix is clearly more psychedelic than most techno. Instead of complaining like a moron, post something better.

But its not full On or Goa or tribal that this thread demands, judge on what the tracks speaks even if the Artists' name blow loud.

Okay, sorry. Yes, you ing tool, I listened to most of the set Basilisk posted. I'm no expert on psychedelic techno, but the sheer fact that you think Richie Hawtin is a god speaks volumes to your ty tastes. That track you posted is one of the most bland things I've ever heard. It has a slightly psychedelic tinge, but no variation or any fresh ideas whatsoever. You lose. Good day, sir.

This is nice. Much better than that Richie Hawtin garbage.

There is plenty of room for different opinions about what constitutes "psychedelic" in techno. I just look for some kind of "transportative" quality in the music. Regular techno and tech house gets into a particular groove; psychedelic techno takes you somewhere as the story progresses. Of course, a good DJ can turn "regular" techno into a psychedelic experience by programming a set like a journey, as we aim to do in the psytrance scene, so there are many degrees of psychedelia to consider here. So yes, Gui Boratto might not be all that psychedelic in isolation, but in the mix I think his material works well to set the tone for a moment. Ironically, I find that psytrance ex-pats like Riktam & Bansi often make "straight" music whereas new techno heroes like Max Cooper really capture the trippy vibe of the psytrance experience in techno form. All of this leads into why I find the borderlands between psytrance and techno to be particularly exciting right now... there is an active dialogue about what it all means even as the music continues to evolve.

Nice post. I've always found techno to be quite a psychedelic sound even compared to a lot of trance and even though it's not often described as such. But I guess that also comes down to personal taste and also the way I tend to mix and play with music.
