| What's so ludicrous about the flower ants claim? Ants are often found on plants, and many ants are venomous. |

Many ants can sting humans, and some can even bite. The bullet ant has the most painful sting in the insect world, so-named because it feels like being shot. There are also a lot of flightless wasps which are often confused with ants. An example is the velvet ant, which feeds on plant nectar and has an especially painful sting. |

Ants don't attack people, they only defend themselves. |

Yes, that semantic pedantry is exactly why the girl is the source of the ridicule.
"An ant came out of a flower and attacked me!"
"Oh you stupid girl, the ant was merely defending itself from what it perceived as a threat. Megalulz." |

| I was bitten to hell by red fireants in canada. That's what I get for agreeing to do the garden for my brother/sister in law, and doing so in shorts. |

Same here. Whe I was in Florida I guess I did pushups on an ant hill. Later that night the meaty part of my thumb felt irritated and when I woke up in the morning the base of my thumb was the size of a tennis ball, with six white dots in a line. I though my thumb was going to fall off! Apparently I'm allergic to fire ants.
The bitch of it was I was in school and was testing out for micro/miniature soldering. Needless to say they let me slide on a few things since I couldn't hold on to any tools. Was number 1 in the class too.:D |

Dont run away to here, we have bulldog ants. They're super bitey, really aggressive, a bit over an inch long and can jump 1-2ft.
Which is a pity because they do actually look kind of cool
