Well there have been loads of posts in the forums about Oakey. As of late none of them have been really good... why is everybody bitching about him. His new album may be commercial but he is the same dj that he has always been! His sets are still the best around... nobody reads a crowd better than him.
For all those people that are bitching and moning go to his website. He is going to answer questions posted on his forums. So if its good or bad, drop a post and tell him what you think.

Dude, Oakey is NOT what he used to be. He's changed ALOT, musically, for the worst in my opinion. He was once my favourite dj, when I first started partying, and saw him for the first time back in like 98 I think, and he was the one that REALLY got me into trance, cause his set was PURE melodic, epic, powerful, uplifting trance, you know. the GOOD ! Now, you'd be lucky to hear one or two good tracks in his crappy progressive sets these days... not my style, and it once wasn;'t his, so do't try n tell people that he's still the same guy. He changed because he thought he had to, which is very sad cause alot of djs are doin that these days.
Just my opinion.

Actually he was VERY GOOD at GKGG! He played a lot of uplifting tunes at the end and the place went nuts!!!!

Oakenfold has not lost it. When I saw him three months ago he spun such great songs as:
Gus Gus - Purple(sasha vs Light)
DJ Tiesto - Flight 653 (mixed on top of Impact - Inspiration, trust me, it sounded cool)
Just another Day played on top of William Orbit - Barber's Adagio for strings (Ferry Corsten mix) (funny how he played this when the E-tarded crowd was coming down and brought them back up. Damn he sure CAN read a crowd)
Ready steady go and Southern sun (Tiesto Mix) of course.
He played other great songs, but I don't know what their names are and I can't remember all of it. |

Well i heard some of his sets back to 98 good uplifting trances good tunes good ...
A friend told me he plays progressive house now?!??!??!? is that true?
if it that wlel he sucks now i hate house:p hehehe
I havent heard aokenfold lately i have been hearing other djs so i wouldnt know... |

| Meh. Oakenfold is still > than 99% of the people hating on him. Even if he doesnt play uplifting/melodic/whatever you want to call it, his skills as a dj are still top notch, change is a natural part of all people, especially musicians. You can say you dont like the new style, but Id like to see you mix better than him on a technical level ;( |

| when i was driving to work today i heard his new remix of days go by come on the radio and realized that it isn't that bad. its better then the original. as far as his style changing who cares as long as he is making good . people love other artists like hybrid that have been doing this style for awhile so why pick on oakie. |

| i heard his set at GKGG,pretty good with nice tracks tha tiesto spins in this time, but the first minutes i hated him, only boring progressive tunes...i thought that cause it was hes first time there had to do something good ..dont know... |

haven't heard all of bunkka yet but of the tracks i have heard so far they are pretty damn good.
yeah don't pick on oakie, he's can still kick ass behind the decks.
with hair like this how can you hate on him?
