What the...are you talking to me? lol..I never said anything bad about raves, or the culture, I love old school rave culture and everything about it! It's just we all grew up, got jobs, got responsibilites now.

My point was that people like you my young padawan raver have never been properly schooled in raving culture. It's a life, it's a culture, hell some people took it as far as a religon. We use to live @ the warehouses we partied at, we had to be nice and love one another, it was all we had. when I was 17 or 18 we use to party at this club, and the owner would have beds in the VIP section for our crew, (place always looked packed), we would sleep there, and walk out back into the club with the party, we practically lived there. We wern't the type of kids to go out, and then come back and say hi to mommy and daddy, we would leave for months at a time and bus around southern Ontario, from one party to the next. That's true rave culture!

Jaded, no no ..just the oposite, I love raves, and I see the old school is coming back again, that was my point. I seen some Ravers on the bus the other day and had a chat with them, it was so great, brought back many memories.

Anyways, I could go on and on about this, but there's really no point now is there..hehe it's funny why you would take that as me being negative towards raves, I guess I am just a bad writer..cause it was all for them.

Clubber......especially when big names comes to town.

I don't want to get into the whole debate about the "good old days" of raves cuz I only started to rave right when it got mainstream (what a shame)

But that doesn't matter.....the quesiton was, which scene to you prefer?

Honestly, more and more I find myself liking the rave scene more than the club scene. With clubs there's so much attitude and seriously....the main point at a club is to pick up the opposite sex. The whole idea of going to a club and "enjoying the music and dancing" is out the door after you club almost everyweekend of the month.

The rave scene is much more friendlier sorta...and come on, to all the jaded people saying the scene is dead...it's dead cuz the ppl changed...not cuz of the media and I STILL DO SEE PPL GIVING HUGS, KISSES AND FRIENDLY LIGHTSHOWS...

Maybe the last two raves that you guys hit sucked but don't let that spoil your whole rave memory.

Come to a few with me or start going to them again, maybe you'll realize that the scene isn't dead, just hidden.

My next party: Nightmare Contamination, August 10th

Well, with all this being said, check me off as a clubber... I just don't find the rave scene too appealing anymore (don't get offended, but I find it way too trashy too), while the clubs are much more interesting (great sound, visuals, dressed up people, great DJs, too many nice looking girls...)

i thought back in the old days there was no "headliner" it was all locals etc who were there to have fun

about your definition of rave, yes i know its not the same as b4 but i sugest you check the dictionary as well for their definition :)

once again, i understand where u are coming from e master so in your case i sugest you replace the word rave with party ever time you see it however for the rest of us who have not had the oppertunity to experiance the rave culture you have we are still going to call it a rave ( btw i dont say "rave" in public i just say parties)

I'm just saying the name "Rave" was misintrepeded when they brought it here and trust me. This they call "raves" or *ahem "Parties" has just about nothing to do with oldschool. Oldschool was the real hardcore. But like Ckerr812 said it best, I also, grew up, graduated highschool and now realize this will never return. Rave Nation is DEAD. But then all of the sudden like 5 years ago, after it died over there it made a new name here. Man, The u got going on here ain;t raves, they are Underground parties, since that is what the north american definition is of "rave". It was a nice era, and I sitll do not udnerstand why they are trying to ruin the history of the era by using the name "Rave" over here. Like I said, I am not trying to diss anyone. I just want some of the younger "partiers" to understand that they Ain;t "Ravers". I am proud to say I am a former Raver and to some point still am. Is itll listen to the old occasionally and have flashbacks and I enjoy them. It's just when I see these wannabe ravers who think they are hardcore don;t even know what era they are in. they are just confused. As for I, I know what era I was in.

btw... the only headliner I saw in Germany was "Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo" and Mark 'oh. Other than that those were the only heradliners I saw at raves there. I am a clubber now and a the Raver in me is diminished but still awake.

I think i'm a Raver.
but, do clubbing too.
I just like to dance under nice music and lights.

btw, I thought RAVE was dancing all night party with good electronic musics to dance with... :conf:
Rev. Paroxyzm
Big Bud and Hullabaloo parties LICK ASS.

It's all about Purple Heaven, Digital Tangerine and Nightmare.
There are plenty of other companies too... Smerk, Resistor, 420prods and so on.

Anyhow... if "Ravers" here are interested in a more 'raver' friendly message board i can suggest one... but PM me first... this board isn't a secret, but we don't need nasty, jaded and uneducated clubbers harassing us on there.... that's my job.

I hate clubs and raves alike!

I am the most introverted person ever... I am in it for the music (ya ya sound cheesy but I really f**king hate clubs).

I've been to a club... 5 times. Hated it 4 times and didn't really enjoy it the fifth.

Cheers

I'm a clubber who'd love to be a raver.
I've only been into the scene for just over two years. My first experience was the WMC in Miami. I saw Max Graham and Timo Mass at Crobar and I was hooked immediately. The next night I went to Ultra Fest which is an outdoor event and had a definite "rave" feel to it, at least from my perspective. There were lots of candy ravers, hugs from strangers, light shows, etc. Just an incredible vibe (you all know what I'm talking about) and truly a life-changing experience (again, most, if not all, of you know what I'm talking about).
Unfortunately, now that I'm back home, it seems that I only go to clubs (actually, it's pretty much just the Guv). I still get some of that same vibe when I go to see a trance dj (I was surrounded by great people at AVB) but otherwise, it feels a little too much like a mainstream club. I'd like to go to more raves, but most of my friends have been into the scene for years and prefer the clubs now so nobody's interested.
I've only been to System once before, but after reading about it here, I'm going to start going more often in the hopes that the crowd is a bit more what I'm looking for.
Damn! Why the hell didn't I get into this ten years ago??
